Sophocles Theban plays (intro questions)

1. Why was greece divided by contrary ideals of state craft and opposing ambitions for power during the peloponnesian war?

3. why were dramatic plays refered to as a chorus rather than drama?

4. Since the audience was already in possession of the main facts of the story, why was it necessary that the play be told as a story self contained and complete?

6. Why is it that mortal man can never find a happy ending, untill the day he carries his happiness down to the grave in peace?
