The best way to really do research is to find a topic that can grab your eyes
not a topic you may already know alot about. For example the topic I chose for
my senior project was cosmetic sugery in which I really know much about other
than every celebrity in Holly wood have some type of sugery done to them and
that is what really made me want to look more in to it. The hard part to writing
and finding research is not understanding what you are looking for . There should
be questions that you have in order to make your research easier to find. Therefore
you should go in to doing research with a open mind and time because that is what
you need to complete that assignment.

While doing your search there are just little things you can use so that
way you won't have to go back for important information. For example window box
notes is good to use for facts, dates,connection and names. Also, having about three
windowa pulled up on your computer. However, using other methods that may work
for you because every method may not work for every one as it work for me. There fore
you should always ahve question written .

This senior project is not what I thought it would be. I'm thinking that its going to be easy but comes to find out that its not at all. I have to do things on this project that I didn't do be for like the job part that we have to do you have to act like you want a job and you have to make sure you have a resume and ect. Its all new to me but I'll get though it I know I will. I like to do research on things that I like to do so that's a good thing about the project. I'm doing my project on culinary arts. I love to cook so I want to learn more about it like where is the best college to go to for culinary arts and What is the history of culinary arts ect. But wants I get though this project it will help me a lot when I get out there in the big world.If I need help with something I can ask my mom to help me and my teachers. It seems like its taking so long for this project to get done because I have other things to do in different class and I'm trying to put them all together and its not working. My mane thing is getting this project done because I don't want this to hold me back from my others class and also I can't get out of this school.

The key to writing is to find a topic that you are passionate about. While researching a topic don't just research one topic, but a variety of topics. Its good to have a variety of topics handy, just in case you get in a sticky situation with the first one, at least you will have a second alternative.It's always good to have a back up plan.


When doing a research the best method to use is the window box notes. Once you get used to the process it become a constant thing you do when ever doing a research. It's like the method gets attached to you, you do it until you end up doing it in your sleep. I first learned about the window box notes from my English 4 Honors teacher. Every one has a different way of formatting it, just use which ever format you understand.

In fact a way to do research is to find an idea, name, a date, something to start you off. When doing that you look it up in books, internet, or you could ask someone about your idea. Next after doing that you jot down notes, and you write down your thoughts on paper so you can get a mental picture in your head. Your idea is the most critical aspect of your research. It not only organizes the material you are presenting, it also focuses your research efforts.

From my point of view its the facts that support your argument. Make sure you have found out in any academics have made similar arguments and acknowledge them when writing your essay. If they say things, which don't which don't support your argument, say why these statement are either wrong or not applicable in the circumstances. Last you summarize your arguments. Also you can end with an example, or a quote which sums up your argument.

Well generally I believe that you should choose a topic that grabs your attention, but at the same time something you don't know about. For an example for my topic I chose to do something around the field that interests me the most, Psychology. Psychology is the major that I want to take up when i get to college, therefore I figure that although I know what a psychologist does. I don't know some other important things about this field. Since Psychology was such a broad topic i had to break it down into a smaller element. So that's exactly what I did, so i chose to look up the the different disorders of adolescences.
The next step is to map out my K.W.L. What I already knew about that particular topic, what I wanted to know and at the end of all my research everything that I learned. Once my thesis statement is chosen, something that's going to grab the readers attention. I can get to writing my research paper, and it will not be as hard because I have mapped out everything that i want to know and what i already know. Make sure that all of you sources are listed such as books, human beings, Internet, and whatever primary, or secondary sources that you have used.

The best way to tackle your research is to write about something that you are most interested in . A reason to why you would want to do that is because you will have more things to write about and you won't worry about how many pages your teacher wants you to write. Your thesis statement should grab your reader's attention whenever you're writing a research. One way to get information is by including yourself as a source using your own life experiences. Make sure that your writing is suitable for all ages.

Always make sure that the information is primary and not secondary. This helps you get closer to the topic you are researching. You need " accurately and adequately cited footnotes, end-notes or in text notes using a recognized citation style". The argument that you write and evidence should be clear and logical. Also to make an argument for your research make sure your questions are very clear. However, before you start a research do a lot of reading, thinking and speak with your teacher.

For questions I can't really think because they have been answered, but I will ask them anyway..

Applications are currently being accepted for two of the former Pennsylvania Governor’s Schools, the PA School for Global Entrepreneurship at Lehigh University and the University of Pittsburgh Health Career Scholars Academy. Applications for both programs are due by the 2nd week of February, 2010.

The newly named PA School for Global Entrepreneurship (PGSE) will be offered June 27 through July 31, 2010, and is the same in content, length and selectivity as the former Governor’s School program. Last year, 63 Pennsylvania students and 13 international students participated in the 2009 PSGE
program. PSGE students will attend sessions on topics pertaining to entrepreneurship, global networking, team building, project management, leadership and working in a culturally diverse environment. All students will attend core courses, as well as have the option to select elective courses each week. Entrepreneurial exchanges with leaders from business, industry,government,education and the non-profit community will be a part of each weekly
schedule,as will entrepreneurial excursions to local sites of interest including field trips to New York City, Philadelphia and Harrisburg.

Working in teams according to skill and interest areas, students are assigned to a real-world company where they will spend one day per week on a project and problem-solving for that organization. Students prepare a formal marketing or business plan and presentation for the company executives.
The University of Pittsburgh Health Career Scholars Academy is four weeks in length (June 27- July 24, 2010), but has also maintained the same content and selectivity as the former Governor’s School. The program accepts 110 high school juniors who are introduced to the world of health care.

The curriculum exposes students to the wide range of careers in scientific research, mental health, public health, social work, primary care, and
rehabilitation, to name a few. Twice during the program, participants are randomly matched with practicing health care professionals for a job
shadow experience.

Held in the summer, both programs are residential, with students living in college dormitories on the university campuses. Program fees include all
housing,meals, tuition, course materials, and field trips.

school is like prison

school is where i have to go early in the morning until 2:45 in the afternoon. school is like a prison cell, once you go to it you never want to go back. we are searched from head to toes like prisoners because the school district are enforcing new laws every year which seems like every minute.
Rushing to get to school early in the morning is meaningless, once you get to school they cram you up through one door because our school is too poor to afford new metal detectors. It seems like our metal detectors are broke every day. If the metal detector are not broke then the i.d swipe in machine is having some technical difficulty. getting through the swipe in machine is not the only issue that is a disgrace, but walking through the metal detectors. When you walk through and you beep they make you get your belonging and go to the end of the line. what a disgrace huh, if that's not disgraceful enough if you beep for the second time they search you by patting your boding from head to toes like you are some criminal. at times i feel disrespected.
So inconsiderate are certain teachers they don't understand that the process of entering the school is like going through hell. To make thing worse they get all up in your space and nag at you about being late and what not. What is ridicules is that they give us unnecessary detentions which most of us don't even attend. If we don't go, they threaten us with suspension. I say its a waste of their time, because there is way they can keep track of every student due to the fact there aren't enough worker. The detention lounge is this ridicules place where they torture us for 30 minutes and let us go. Sitting in detention is like isolation from any living thing.they categorize us by grades. We are advised to close our mouths and be quite or else our detention will be increased. sometimes i feel trapped, and its like the only way out is through an education. Getting an education means sitting my butt in class and listening to my teachers even if it kills me.

Movie Review

Inspired by a true story, The Strangers marks the director, Bryan Bertino's film debut capturing the horrifying home invasion by three masked psychopaths. This film unfolds in a slow intensified intimidation as a young couple, Kristen (Liv Tyler) and James (Scott Speedman) arrive at a isolated vacation home after a friend’s wedding.

While the couple is battling with a rocky relationship, they are interrupted by three psychopaths. Who are these masked strangers and why do they want to kill this couple? As you watch the film these questions will never be answered, because these three strangers identities and motivations are concealed. Bryan Betino breaks the traditional filmmaking rule by giving killers who have no motive to kill this innocent couple.

The Strangers build tension with tiny details such as, a moved cell phone, a skipping song on the record player. Kristen and James attack escalated from loud pounding noises to threatening messages on the wall, to physical violence, leaving Kristen and James no time to think of an escape of the madness. The couple engages in a fight of their lives and now are fighting for their lives. Will they surive and their love will be stronger or will they die not knowing the future?

The movie that im doin my review is on "What Love Got To Do With It". Her real name was Anna Mae but after being with ike wwe all know her as Tina Turner. She always had a special voice. One day she found out that her mom and older sister moved away and she was left in nutbush to live with her grandmom. then as she got older she moved backe with her mom. Soon after arriving in St. Louis Tina got to a nite club one nite with her sister ( she's been there many times) soon gets the attention of pop group leader Ike Turner. She becomes the band's singer, his wife, and mother to his children not all hers some mite even say anna was a dummy for staying around with ike knowing he cheated on her. In love with Ike and determined not to leave in the way her mother had, she finds herself dealing with violence from her husband who can't see who is making the band such a success. this movie was written by Jeremy Perkins.

the movie that i chose to do is " Love dont cost a thing" This moive is about a teenage boy Alvan Johnson (Nick Cannon) who has 1 wish and that is to be popular his senior year, but problem is he dont know the first step about being "cool" or "popular".Then the most popular girl in school Paris Morgan (Christina Millian) crashes her mother's truck, and lucky her Alvan not only can fix it, but he also have the money to receive the parts needed, which was also needed to buy his camshaft, the finishing touch to competing in nationals and winning. In return Alvan asks Paris can they pretend to be friends so that he will become popular, and so that people will acknowledge his exsists.As time bypassed, and the 2weeks are up Alvan is as popular as ever and all thanks to Paris. Now that the big "break up" is awaiting, the 2 start to catch feelings for each other, after the breakup Paris trys to get back with her ex boyfriend, but couldn't because of her and Alvan's previous "Relationship" All in wanting to be popular, Alvan was to afriad of admitting the truth.In conclusion Alvan learned that being yourself gets you overall more respect as a human being, and him and Paris ended up becoming a couple. My Movie Review "Baby Boy"

Over the weekend i watched the movie Baby Boy, which was about a young man still living home with his mother while trying to live and be a man. Character (Tyreese Gibson) playing a young Man named Jodie tired of not making money and being a consumer in life. Jodie is always on his mother about the things she does and people she decides to mess with because he is afraid that she will move on and forget about him. Jodie takes on selling women clothing after taking advice from his mother about how he knows so much about women. Jodie also have a faithful girlfriend who he lies to and cheats on every chance he gets. Girlfriend Evett played by (Tararje P Henson) also has problems as her ex boyfriend gets out of jail and come to stay wit her.

As Jodie learns that being on his own isn't as easy as it seems he learns that the rode to becoming a man will be tuff but more rewarding as life goes on. Jodie gets jumped, shoots a man, fights with his mom boyfriend, and almost gets shot his self. But despite all of trials and tribulations he turns out alright in the end.

My Movie Review "Precious"

I went to see the movie "Precious" this friday, which is about an illiterate teen who enters an alternative program ."Precious" is based on the Novel “Push” by Sapphire, it takes place in Harlem, New York, of a 16 year old girl named Claireece “Precious” Jones. "Precious" is raped by her father at the age of three, gives birth to his baby at twelve and she names her baby girl Mongo. She is faced with changing school when her school finds out that she is pregnant again. Her school told her about an alternative school called the "each one, teach one", so that's where she ends up going. "Precious" life changes at this point in the movie.

She starts to write out her problems she is dealing with in her journal , when her teacher asks the class to write what on their minds. Writing out her problems in her journal, and her Ms. Rain responding back to her makes her understand what was being done to her by her father and mother (Monique) was wrong. From this point "Precious" puts up a fight and not allows her mother to deprive her from an education, and manipulate her. When "Precious" mother realizes that she no longer has power over her, she tries in every way to show the social worker (Mariah Carey) she is doing her best for "Precious".

By the ending of the movie "Precious" works hard and becomes intelligent than she ever was. Have her last baby boy Abdul and love and protects him in a way, which she never had. She moves out of her mother's place and finds a place of her own. From the ending of the movie she continues towards her destiny.

Paranormal Activity

Is this movie actual footage of a haunting? Despite the film's implication that the footage was found by police and released by the families of the victims, this is a fictional movie. It is not inspired by real events. The director experienced odd noises at his home and was inspired to write a script about what might have caused it.

At the start of the film, you meet Micah (the curious and protective boyfriend) and Katie (his scared and confused girlfriend). Micah decides, after Katie voices concerns that shes been haunted since she was a child, that hes going to videotape the events of their lives, all day and night in order to get to the bottom of whatever situation theyre dealing with, whether natural or supernatural and slowly the couple begin to get answers to the question of what it is thats going bump in the night.The film is NOT your typical fast paced horror flick. It takes its time developing characters and does so flawlessly. You understand who the characters are and why they react in the way they do as the events in the film get progressively worse.The actors owned their roles and did an incredible job getting the audience to care for their characters. They did such a good job in fact, that its easy to forget that youre watching a movie. The characters, as well as the supernatural activity was very realistic. Simple, believable and most importantly, not over the top. I can honestly say that Paranormal Activity is by far the scariest film that Ive ever seen and Ive seen A LOT of horror films. Its creepy, suspenseful and gets under your skin. The effect that its had on me lingers even now, weeks later. I remember hearing someone say, "An effective scary film will follow you long after leaving the theater, while a poor one is forgotten by the time you hit the parking lot". Much like JAWS made it scary to go to the beach, Paranormal Activity makes it scary to sleep in what USED to be the comfort of your own home.

Movie- Glory Road

This movie is one of my personal favorites if not my favorite. This film is a true story that showed us what it takes to become champions.The setting is 1966 in Texas. The movie was how one man named Don Haskins, who recruited African- American players to play on a basketball, which in this time there was segregation. He took alot of heat for it but he was not looking at the color of there skin he was looking at there talent because he wanted to win. Heading into the season with 7 black athlets and 5 whites raised alot eye brows for this. The first game of the season he started 3 blacks and 2 whites. They went on and won 27 out of 28 games and was ranked number 3 in the nation.

The movie showed us how harsh it was to be black back then. The fans were throwing things at the players using racial slurs and it was horrible. But the way the players both black and white came together to reach one common goal and that was to win the championship it was amazing. Don Haskins and Texas Western University now known as University of Texas at El Paso was the first team in history to start 5 African American athletes in a game. The other players didn't like it but the coach wanted to make a statement and he did in a big way beating the heavy favorite University of Kentucky. This movie was good, even though slant magazine gave it 1 star, but others as christian answers .net gave it 3 stars and yahoo gave it a B+. This is my favorite movie. YOU GOTTA SEE IT!!!

Movie Review

The movie I chose to do my review on was John G. Avildsen's 1989 hit "Lean on Me". This movie was awesome. It was based on a true story. The movie was about a high school that was out of control and full of teenagers with troubles. This school was doomed to to put everybody to failure until they got a new principal, Mr. Clarke. Mr. Clarke was played by Morgan Freeman. He did an excellent job in the movie also. When he got to Eastside High he was very strick, but he really cared about those children. He believed in them and and he pushed them to the edge to make them get their acts together. Before Mr. Clark came and took over Eastside it was crazy in there. It was drug dealing going on in the buliding, fights, smoking, even sex. Mr. Clark came and put out anybody who needed to be put out. By the end the school was like a big happy family. I really chose this movie because it reminds me of O.H.S. From the stories about our school it used to be just like that. Now we have a principal who cares. Well in my opinion I thinks she cares. We aren't perfect but we get better everyday. At the end of the day we are all a family striving to get better just like Mr. Clark and Eastside High. I would give this movie 5 stars. It shows that anybody can do anything they want to do if they jus put their minds to it.

Orphan is about an orphan Ester who has a hypopitarism disorder that stunt her physical growth. Kate and John Coleman are looking to adopt ester they think she is nine years old but she thirty three. John and Kate have two children already Daniel and Maxine. Maxine is deaf and uses sign language to communicate.Kate and john are having marriage problems because Kate use to be an alcoholic and that's how the lost their unborn child.

Maxine likes Ester but Daniel doesn't, he thinks she weird because she wears old fashion dresses and ribbons around her neck and wrist. Ester was Russian and the orphanage had no trace of her background. The directer of this movie is Jaume Collet Serra and the movie she created had received one nominee.When Kate goes further in the investigation of her past of eshter,she contacts the saarne insitute, a mental hospital in estonia,and discovers that the girl is not who she tell she is.

Movie Review On I Can Do Bad All By Myself

Tyler Perry's I Can Do Bad All By Myself.Critics gave this movie four and a half stars as well as two thumbs up.I can do bad all By myself is as good as the headlines said it would be.I think it was Mr.perry's third best film after meet the browns and Madea's family reunion. This film had people in a daze sort of giving them a reality check that may have been well needed.I say this because we (the audience/viewers) seen how the 16 year old character Jennifer was a angry teen because she had grown up responsibilities and no one to go to.Jennifer had to take on that motherly role for her two younger little brothers.She had to do so because their biological birth mother passed away from drugs and their grandmother from a brain malfunction.Jennifer had allot on her back at such a young age,but she had no choice because she had an aunt who's name was April she didn't want them and tells them so.April is a bad representation for young women in the film because she drinks entirely too much,sleep's with a married man and thinks of nothing but her own needs which obviously isn't a good characteristic for her being as though she had three nieces and nephews who needed her more than anything in the whole entire world.In this film Tyler used a unique writing style which had the audience more engaged he used myths which is something unripe in most films.At the end of the day the movie was about April's redemption which was aided by A Handyman who was part of the church congregation's that April's mother was apart of this handyman went by the name of Adam he was by far my favorite character in the film because he showed April a whole new way of living,how to love the right way as well as the necessities in life.Tyler ended this movie with a tear jerking moment which was April getting her life together,raising her nieces and nephews and my favorite part April finding her soul mate which was Adam.IF you Haven't already SEEN this film please do so i think just as well as others that you can learn a little something from it or you probably could relate to it,BUT Keep In Mind That The Movie Is (Rated Pg-13)...

In the beginning of all about the Benjamins, its about how a bounty hunter ( Ice Cube) a Miami bounty hunter for Martinez Bail Bonds who's tired of his dangerous, unprofitable profession and wants to start his own private investigation firm. So he his forced to hunt down a small-time grafter named Reggie Wright (Mike Epps), a person who is always getting in and out of jail for little pity crimes. Wright tries to avoid his pursuer by hiding in a van being driven by a pair of murderous diamond thieves who've just made off with 20 million dollars worth of diamonds.

Reggie left his wallet in a van, his wallet containing a winning lottery ticket worth 60 million dollars. The hunt is on for big money as the mismatched duo tries to outfox a wily syndicate for both the ticket and the precious gems. So Reggie tries to pursuade Bucum that his has the winning lottery ticket but Bucum doesn't believe him because Bucum thinks he is just trying to find a way not to go back to jail.

Paparazzi, desperate were they to gain public attention and get rich quick that they forgot the person they were hurting was not an animal but a human being with characteristics like themselves, but different and unique. Michael Jackson had a rough child hood and a misunderstood adulthood. The king of pop they say, yet they had no respect for him. Dead and gone with his many rehearsals transformed into a movie to show the other side of him that he tried to show us, yet we rejected it and did not give him a chance. This is his piece of evidence of his existence that will be shown for centuries.
This is it, is a 5 star movies that depicts a man whom earned his title as king of pop. Active and jolly on and off stage regardless of what the world was putting him through. Michael’s interaction with his backgrounds performers gives you another perspective on him. Fun, imaginative, humorous and intelligent are the words that come to mind when trying to describe his rehearsal routines. This is the kind of movies that is not only education but fun to watch. The suspense of the music puts you on the edge of your seat. The choreography was like none ever seen in any movie, show or real life show. This is a movie that will not be forgotten centuries from now and will become an even bigger hit years from now. If our generation doses not understand the significance behind this movie then maybe the next generation will. The movie is like a jigsaw puzzle, it will have you trying to piece both sides of his life up. The side that we never got the chance to see and the side that we got to see but misinterpreted.

A movie that is kind of similar is Ruby Bridges. This is a movie about a little black girl that was judged by the content of her skin color and misunderstood. Eager for an education and to make new friends she was blinded by the hatred that surrounded her, ready to consume her like a fish in the ocean. The white people judged her before they got to know her, just like the king of pop we judged what little of himself he showed us before we got to know who he really was as a whole.

This time around there a twist from the beginning of the movie heading steeply toward the horrid shocking end. Don't want to tell the movie now so just go see it for your self. "Boyz- N- the hood" is true street tale of how living in LA and all across America is for young black men
between the ages of 18-25. Directed by John Singleton whose theme shows to the world that all
black men are not the same and they all do not stand on the corner and sell drugs for a living. Using some
new up and coming actors such as Morris Chestnut who plays Ricky a young African America man who
been raise in the hood all his life but is determine to be more than what he seen along his side is his best friend
Tre palyed by Cuba Gooding Jr,both guys living in south central which back in the 90's was consider danger tone
to the world was just tring make it out no matter what the stakes was. Rapper ice cube played a thug Dough boy who just did not care about life and was ready to die when ever. Larry fishburn better gave a remarkably performance as Tre father that stayed positive at all times and was very well educated. He also did the one job
that every one would not thought of such as being a single parent raising his son all by him self from the age
12 up in to about 17. The film showed abuse from officers, abuse from love ones and how violence not only affect that
one person but the whole family. Boyz -N- the hood is just one of those must see movies and even after seeing for about
the 100th time i still learn from it and try to take from it, every one can relate to one or more characters in their own
little way and whether it is your mom not treating you right or you getting shot at over some thing dumb or for the young
ladies out here having a baby at a young age these are all problems we face today in our world and boyz-N-the hood
just show others who may not be aware of it is growing up in the ghetto. I give this movie 5 stars it was a wonderful movie I enjoy watching it

Three things that i am lacking are studying, doing homework, and bieng organized. Studying for me is just read it till i remember it instead of reading to understand it. I tend to study the night before knowing that i will probally not get the best grade but i always pass. Homework i never sit down and just do i have to be bored or something to want to do it. I never really had problems with homework except doing it on time. Organization i have always been poor at i never really place the right things in the right place i just put stuff in the first folder that i see. These are three key attributes that i am lacking and need to improve on.

Education

education is the key to success. Without education we are just another statistic of a high school drop out. education controls our destiny, our destiny controls our future. What we choose to make out of life can either make us or break us. we need to make the best of the free education that is served to us on a silver platter. The Streets

the place where bombs without dreams and aspirations turn to, to educate them about self destruction. the morals of the streets will destroy you and make you a laughing stock if you are incapable to keep up with them. Street rules, you gotta know how to deal/do drugs, experienced in killing. with those criteria you are officially placed in society as a street bomb. The destruction of yourself may lead to greater tragedy in your family. Its like a chain reaction, once your dead and gone they bury you and find another bomb to take your place, and you are forgotten. Cold and lonely buried underground brainless with nothing to hold on to but your morals the streets taught you.

Things you don't know about me is I had Cancer, and I can sing. When I was 2 years old I had Cancer. I didn't have a fun childhood like everybody did. Most of my time were in the hospital. I remember one time I was in the hospital on Christmas. I couldn't go home because I was so sick. I lost my hair twice and I would have to wear hats on my head in school. In that time I was in a choir called The Freedom Youth Mass Choir of Philadelphia. My aunt is the founder and directer of this choir. She also had an adult choir to they are called Freedom Choir of Philadelphia. People from different church's come together and go around the country and sing. 99% of the youht choir went to college. We won a Gospel Competition in New York. They all prayed for me and my family as we went though. Now its been 11 years that I'v been free from cancer. Im so happy and I pray for families that are going though any sickness in their lives.

Things you Don't Know

Things you don't know about me is that I am a A and B student at OverBrook and I am involved in the robotic and I am one of the head representive of stundent government at Overbrook. Another things you don't know about me is that I am a person that is very nice unless you really get on my nerves and pist me off, but I am very cool. Once you get to know me you will really like me. Some other things you don't know about me is that my mom is not in my life and gave me up when I was little, so my dad has been taking good care of me and I thank him for that. One thing that you may not no about me I'm a music head. I have always loved music in all shapes or forms since i was little. Starting last year i joined a music group and really began to excel in my career choice. I always sung to myself because i never looked at it as a talent just something else i could do. My ninth grade year living in Chicago someone herd me singing an told me i should really sing out loud and be heard. My best friend father was really deep into music did songs with R. Kelly and many others. I sang for him and he said i really should start thinking about it as a career. I came home to my cousin and his group and he welcomed me with open arms and i been doing it ever since.

Three Things Im Lacking

Three things I'm lacking this year is studying,having work organized,and doing homework on time. These things sometimes put me behind on work because I sometimes get distracted,and that makes me feel upset.The most important out of these three is studying,I lack this because when I get home I always get distracted by the game or television.The things I need to do to fix my problems is to put that stuff to the side.Second,if I could study I could get work Organized,but I see no changes.When I get my work I sometimes put it my bag without it in folder.That's reasons why I be losing work,but i no what I need to do.I have to get folders and place them in there. Finally,I have problems doing homework for lots of reasons.One is being distracted,being on the phone,and playing the game.I can overcome this by just putting it to the side and just love my work.

The assignment giving to me to find the three things I am lacking in was challenging for me. The reason this task seem to be hard for me was because I wanted to choose the three things I knew I need improving in order to become more successful in my academics and future and career goals after taking great care of reviewing myself I came to the conclusion that the three things I am lacking in are grades ,studies and attitude these three things are I believe are the things that if I improve and work hard to change will help me become student and successful in any career I choose.

The reason I believe I’m lacking in my studies is because I spend most of my time playing and chilling with friends. I think if I spend less time with my friends and more time on my school work I wouldn’t have the problem I have with my studies. To change this problem I will study every night if needed and ask questions when I need help with an assignment. However if I keep lacking my grades will reflect and I don’t think that they will be good.

I also lack in my grades they aren’t as high as I know they could be. My grades are very important because they reflect on me as a person and they can make me or break me. When I say they can make me or break me I mean that if there good I will get good opportunities in life. Break me means that I can get bad grades and make nothing of my life. I know my grades aren’t as high as they could be because I don’t apply myself enough. I know if I really stay focused, applied my self more and stay determined on doing well my grades will improve 100%.

The last and final thing I need to improve on is my attitude. I know this because I get angry way to easily not to mention I take things out of proportion. I would like work on this because my attitude can make people dislike me and make people not want to be around me. If I don’t change I won’t get far in life because no one would want to help me. Therefore if I work on keeping a positive attitude people wouldn’t mind helping me in life.

Therefore if I work on all these things above I can achieve all the goals I set for myself . This gives me a good reason to motivate myself and push myself to work on the things that I need to work on.

PanthThe one thing that people don’t know about me is that I’m very smart, out going, and really funny. People don’t know that because I’m always so serious about everything, or so it would appear to people who are not close to me. Habbits of mind

Of the 16 habits of mind mentioned in the article sadly i only have managed to apply three to my life successfully. The three are Thinking independently, applying past knowledge to new situations and striving for accuracy. The three of 16 habits in which i need to apply to my life are consistency,listening with understanding and empathy, and responding with awe.

Thinking Independently
Thinking independently is one of many skills i am good at. When it comes to thinking up creative ways to life i am an expert. My thinking skills are above and beyond Albert Einsteins, although i do not consider myself a Guinness. I love thinking things up and applying them to the way i see life. My thinking capacity gives me a various perspective to life. My thinking skills lets me see the world in colors as suppose to others who view the world in one dimension of black and white.

Applying past knowledge to new situations

My grandmother once told me the past is the future. Whatever i am told i listen to carefully and take notes on because you never know when it might come in handy later on in life. especially the words of your elders, every word of wisdom is nourishing for the soul. Knowing that my elder has experienced life's struggles far beyond my capacity i listen to their story and hold on to their every words as if my life alone depends on it. There has been a few times where i have had to bring up past memories of events and stories to help me out of a few sticky situations.

Striving for Accuracy

striving for accuracy is one of my strongest habits of mind. One thing about me is that i am the kind of person that never gives up, i strive for the best and nothing but the best. If i think my best is not going to be enough i struggle until perfection. I m a little girl with a big heart and a little mind. I strive for precision and accuracy in my daily day to day life.

Consistency

W.O.W this is my weakest of the 16 habits of mind. I am either on or I'm late. I am usually more late than on time to turn in my homework assignments. The problem is not that i don't do them, i am just to lazy to put the efforts in it to See it to the end. My inconsistency has made my grades suffer, i am not usually the kind of person to get of track but i have just been slacking due to personal problems. I need to get back on track or suffer the consequences later which I'm not sure i want to do.

Listening with understanding and empathy

This might be worse than the other one. As we all know nobody on this earth is perfect except god. Well this includes several not one of my imperfections. I have this terrible habits of pretending I'm listening t people when they are putting their time and effort into something, literally pouring their heats out to me but the reality of it is that I'm either asleep or worried about my own problems. i have these selfish thought about why i should listen to your problems and help you find solutions when i got my own prole ms that are pro bally worse than yours to work on.Selfishness is also ma contribution to this habit.

this also falls in with responding with wonder and awe

I may give you the impression that I'm impressed or into what your saying but trust me i am not I'm in another world. It's only a false sense of wonderment and awe that says in other words this is taking to long get to the point so i could leave.

My dreams and aspirations for the school year are to graduate from high school and get accepted into a good affordable college. A high school diploma and a college degree is a must have in the kind of family i am from. I am from a family with successful lawyers, social worker, computer engineers and doctors who went to school, finished and got multiples degrees. With a burden on my shoulder to meet their expectation of a perfect child i strive day and night to stay focused on my goals and make it to the finish line, no matter what the obstacles are that i have to go through . I know that i can make it through high school with my diploma, go to college get my degrees in nursing and walk out proudly with my degrees knowing that i have accomplish something great, because I Ami Rose kwaidah am a survivor.

ONE THING MANY PEOPLE DONOT KNOW ABOUT ME IS I CAN BE VERY ARGUEMENTIVE.I USALLY DO NOT HAVE TO LET PEOPLE SEE THAT SIDE OF ME BECAUSE WELL THEY WOULD BE A LITTLE SHOCKED.OVER THE YEARS I HAVE IMPROVED ON THIS SO MUCH I DID NOT DO IT ALONE I HAD HELP FROM MY FAILY OF COURSE BECAUSE I WAS NEVER ARGUEMENTIVE TOWARDS THEM ONLY PEOPLE OUTSIDE OF FAMILY THIS USE TO OCCUR OFTEN BECAUSE I BELEAVE IN THE TRUST NO ONE BUT FAMILY SAYING BUT MY FAILY HELPED ME REALIZE THAT ITS OK TO LET OTHERS IN.i LISTENED TO MY FAILY MEMEBERS AND UNDERSTOOD WHERE THEY WERE COMING FROM SO NOW I HARDLY ARGUE ANYMORE BUT DONT BE SURPRISED IF YOU SEE THAT SIDE I MEAN OF COURSE I HOPE YOU NEVER DO BECAUSE I HAVE MATURED SO MUCH SENTS THOSE DAYS.

The three things that i need to improve about me are getting to school everyday, stop procrasinating, and also work first, play later. I can apply these to my everyday life because your attendance to mean alot because once a teacher go over something for you in class, but you just happen to be absent on that day of school, what happens when you come back to school and you have a test on that very same thing that you missed, now your clueless and have a test coming your way. Also procrasinatoion plays a big part in a bunch of things that i need to do. For an example I have been saying that once i get a chance to go get my state I.D i needed to do that, no work today and yet i still didnt go get my I.D. Next I try to live life for everyday, but why not just do everything that you have to do, like school work first, make sure you get to work because your going to be mad about that check if you dont make it there, then have fun and hang out with your friends. The three things that i just mentioned are going to be the things that i plan on working on for the remainder of the school year, to help better me as a person also.

This is my last year in high school and next year when I start college I do not want to start with the same bad habits that I had in high school. Many things people do knowing its bad and they still do it any way and that how I feel about some of academic behaviors. After reading the article I realize some of the habits I’m lacking are Managing Impulsively, Thinking and Communicating with Clarity and Precision and Thinking Interdependently. These are the three habits that I am going to work on improving before entering college.
Managing impulsively is my biggest problem. I am organized but I don’t plan or follow my plan the way I should. I will think a plan through and when it becomes to put the plan in action I don’t follow it or change at the last minute. This is a very bad habit because when I need things to be in order they are not and I end up behind. If I was to manage impulsively everything would be done with ease instead of so rushed.
When I’m explaining something I tend to stop mid-sentence because the way I thought about what I was going to say sounds different now that I began to say it out loud. The habit Thinking and Communicating with Clarity and Precision would help me a lot in this problem. If I thought more clearly my explanation would be clear. When I tell someone something I don’t want to give them the wrong idea about what I’m saying. I think it’s hard for me to explain things because I think with my emotions. I try to relate everything to an emotion and although I know how I feel I don’t know how to explain to others what I feel or make them understand if I do find a way to explain. I could really use help in this habit.
Thinking interdependently is the ability to work with others and understanding how this can benefit one’s work. I have no problems with people or get along with others but when it comes to work I prefer to work alone. Then reason I like working alone is because I know exactly how I want things and it’s hard to explain a vision. If I work in a group I like to do separate work and just collaborate at the end instead of working as one. This is a bad habit because their will not always be times when I can do things my way, so this needs to improve before college.
Managing impulsively is the habit that I think will be the most helpful now. Thinking and communicating with Clarity and Precision and Thinking Interdependently should be easier to improve then managing impulsively. As of right now I pledge to improve my bad habits of mind and improve my intelligence. Before I get to college these goals must be completed!

Panther Country 2010 4H English: Three Things I'm LACKING
The three things I am lacking in is studying, patience and being consistent. To me this means I am very forgetful and forget very essential things such as things my family may ask me to do. People may tell me to do things and i totally forget about it. You could also use resignation as a character trait to explain me. Now as evident you can determine exactly how comfortable I am being as I tell this truth.

When I get home I am very exhausted from a hard day's work of school. All I really want to do is go in my room and fall asleep. Or when I have to and maybe find the time to study i get bored. If I have no choice but to do it and have to read and go over the things without an actual assignment I really don't wanna be bothered with it.

Here's a big one. Patience is not a good word to describe my self character not what so ever. I do not like being in one place at one time and focus on one thing. For instance classwork, homework or an assignment. If it's not something I'm interested in then a find a way to avoid it or not pay attention.

Consistency is not a great one either. I don't really try new things I just do something different every time something has to be done. Not even intentionally. I guess I can be described as a whole unorganized person. One day I will throw my clothes on the floor another you'll a find a different pair on a chair on basket. Maybe downstairs in the dinning room.

So as you know these are three improvements I need to make and work on. I want to become accountable and let others rely on me. Reliance will be the key to my success. Whether it's for myself or others. I can't wait to get started and began a journey.

Persisting

Am a great problem solver.The things that I have to over come and solve is school work. I never give up on it so easy. Even if it takes awhile i still don't give up I just keep at it until something pops up that makes me say "DUH!". Most of the time I have another alternative if my first strategy didn't work. In my last year english and this year english 4 class u have to know what information to wright down how to take notes and get a idea of how the person wants thier work done or you just dont get a grade for the work you gave in.

Managing Impulsivity

This is a easy one the proof that i think before i act is that am still in brook. If I said everything I wanted I would have been in a lot of fights, and probly kicked out. But thats the type of thing I try to tell people think about what you say before you say it because words are powerful and it can build you or brake you. You just need to know how to use them.I have a lot of self-discipline because of my perents they taught me that there are always consequences to your actions. They always told me u will make mistakes but try not to make a lot of BIG ones. I always look at other options before I act. Thats just how I always am. Like my friends come to me for advise i mean ALL the time and am glad to help them because they know I dont judge no one and I dont take sides I find out both sides of the story and find a solution to the whole thing and try to avoid as many problems as possible.

Listening with Understanding and Empathy

Wow I just explained this from above but ok.. the reason i picked this one is because my friends told me out of all of them this is the one am more like. I guess its because I listen to all their problems and try to help them to the best of my knowledge. To see who is wrong and who was right. (since I explained this one already am going to wright another one to fill in)

Responding with Wonderment and Awe

(Ok this one is a filler so its going to be small) puzzles and strategy is what me and my dad do all the time. Me and him go on the internet and find riddles and puzzles for each other and try to quiz each other. we figure it strangthens are minds and its just fun do. Thinking outside the box is what I do best. If you know me you would agree :D

Everyone isn't prefect, like my hand writing sucks. Its soo sloppy it makes my work look bad. After all this time i still didn't change it or attempt to change it and make it better. My grade are another thing I know I could do better then what am doing now.To prove am trying am actually doing this and trying to get a good grade in this class it might not be what she wants but hey at least I can say I tryed instead of giving up.Am also trying to get my GPA up to make my people proud of me I might not get what I want but am still going to try.

Thinking Interdependently

When I was younger I never liked being in groups, and well I still don't like working with others. I dont know what it is I just don't I work better by myself because the people in the group depend on me anyway and make me do all the work. So its like am doing the work by myself anyway I might as well do it on my own. most people am paired up with they don't want to hear other people ideas anyway but I have to at least try and work with them but I really don't see me enjoying it unless its with my friends.

Habits of Mind

One who is intelligent demonstrates habits proving their intelligence. These habits are called Habits of Mind and are shown through intelligent behavior. In the article Learning and Leading with Habits of Mind 16 habits are described. Of these 16 habits there are three that I strongly follow. These three habits are Listening with Understanding and Empathy, Thinking Flexibly and Applying Past Knowledge to New Situations.
Listening with Understanding and Empathy is very important for anybody. The reason I believe this is such an important habit is because to learn or comprehend is nearly impossible without listening. Being able to listen is not easy especially listening with empathy. When something is bothering one of my friends I’m always the first person they come to. I never judge and try to put myself in that person’s shoes. Another thing that I think is important is not to compare people’s situations because even though it may seem small to me it could really hurt that person. Listening also helps build trust which is my number one value. Listening with understanding and empathy helps other people while helping expand my knowledge.
The second habit that I show is Thinking Flexibly. This habit is related to Listening with Understanding and Empathy. When one thinks flexibly they’re able to see what the majority may not see. I see this quality in myself because sometimes when I’m solving a problem I might find the same answer as others but I found it in a different way or I may ask a question that will make everyone else wonder. The relation between these two habits is to understand in way most can’t. I think flexibly because I’m always open for new ideas and experiences. This is shown in my intelligence because I’m curious about different cultures, religions and histories, where a lot of people really aren’t that interest because that’s not what they are. Being closed minded is ignorance so I try my hardest to think flexibly.
The last and most important habit to me is Applying Past Knowledge to New Situations. This habit is so important because it can branch into so many different areas, for example the past could be yesterday, last year or hundreds of years before I was born. New situations could be in my life personally, as an African American or a U.S citizen. If there were more people who applied their past to their present it would not be as many homicides, wars or closed minded people. I refuse to dwell on one bad situation in my life when there have been so many good times to be happy for. Whatever mistakes I’ve made it’s over now all I have to do is learn from it. This is a very important habit that I believe everyone should try to follow.
These are the habits that prove my intelligence. I will try to expand my intelligence using other habits but as of right now the three that can be examined through my intelligent behavior are Listening with Understanding and Empathy, Thinking Flexibly and Applying Past Knowledge to New Situations. These habits will help me further my intelligence.

The thing you don't know about me is my mom is having a baby!!.
She is having a girl yea baby!, let me stop before i get a "F" sorry breezy.The other thing u dont know about me is people always categorizing me as a goth or a devil worshiper well guess what am NOT!. shocking right? am christian just like you just because i wear skulls doesn't mean anything. You guys are stupid into beliving that.oh! one more thing u don't kno is i dont like having female friends. Its just funny to me how they can be all buddy buddy and then talk about u behind ur back its ridiculous!!. One of my desires is to have my own family and to live on a ranch. :D

learning and leading with habits of mind

I found learning and listening with habits of mind a very interesting read all these 16 habits has played a huge part in my life in some way. The three that I possess at this point in my life are listening with understanding and empathy, striving for accuracy, and applying past knowledge to new situations. Have you ever had a disagreement with somebody and you talk so much about the situation that you lack to even listen to the other persons point of view so you never come to a solution. I always take it upon myself in every situation to listen with understanding and empathy to another person’s perspective because they may be informing on some wise information so it’s a habit of mind to constantly listen to people. I always give my opinion on the situation because I always feel like I should be heard and understood also I want the same respect. If people would just listen to each other I think a lot more things would get done. Sometimes iam guilty of ignoring other peoples point of view but I try to be understanding because I want to be understood. I take into consideration that everybody makes mistakes in every situation. Because I can strongly listen to others opinions I can strongly disagree. Iam always striving for accuracy in all of my work why? Because iam a perfectionist I like for my work to be clearly understood if it is not I like to go back and make it understandable. I take criticism very well but I do not like taking no for an answer no to me is unacceptable I can and I will strive for accuracy. I try not to just do work and rush it I like to take my time and perfect my work .sometimes I make mistakes in my work I can admit that but I learn from my mistakes in my work. Striving for accuracy is important to me because I think that my work reflects me as a person and the readers view on me. Have you ever turned in work to teacher and it’s not exactly correctly done and that teacher breaks you down to the point where you are emotionally hurt well it took one teacher out of all my school years to break me down and that one experience has build me up so well that I have strived for accuracy ever sents.Applying past knowledge to new situations is one of my greatest abililtys.I never like to make the same mistake twice. If I’m in a situation rather it’s good or bad and I have been under similar circumstances before I will apply past knowing to new situations. sometimes I catch myself saying I remember when....something is happen right then and there once I say that I discover that I can pull back from past experience and apply it to the circumstances now. I take all of my ability as a good thing and I put them to use the best way I can. Some times to apply past knowledge to new situations are the best thing to do. Am not a responsible risk taker because I cannot jeopardize any of my work no matter if it is work at school or working on a job. I do not have urges to take risk just because now I love an adventure but I believe that an adventure and a risk are to different things. Togo on an adventure you know what you are getting into you know all of the risks you no what’s up ahead on adventures things are currently planned you know your location. To take a risk based on an impulse is just mind blowing to me. I have to know my next step at all times some people just don’t believe in planning because they feel as though when you plan things they never get done well not me my plans are always planned step by step day by day. Being a responsible risk taker well I never heard of that type of mind thinkers but seems as though they do exists. To take a risk responsible I think means that the risk is well thought of and perfected before the task is complete. I would like to become a responsible risk taker because aim wondering if aim missing something am I not being informed on information that they are maybe not maybe so but I'll find out so I guess Aim taking a risk and it’s safe to safe that this is a responsible risk because I know the outcome and I no the risk. Finding humor in situations is something that I can improve on sometimes iam guilty of being really seiousr on certain topics but i just beleave that my veiws on certain things are stronger than other.I think that humor does the brain well but I rather be truthful about my thoughts then falsely find humor in a situation’s would rather voice my thoughts out loud not to ruin the laughing party but to just let others know that my view on the issues is diffrent.I know how to have a good laugh though Iam not or I do not think iam always serious but I believe that there is a time and a place for everything. I respect other people’s views if something is amusing to me but I know the person next to me does not find it humorous I hold my laughter out of respect for them. I think that some people find humor at other peoples expense I think that some children in particular find humor in picking on other children kind of like a bully but vocally. Never let other find humor at your own expense I do not think that is right. Another thing I need to work on is persistence sometimes I pick up one too many task at time. I think that many people are guilty of this because I like to get everything done at one time. I have decided that if I start one project I will not began another until that one is complete why because it’s too much confusion at once then I tend to forget about one thing because my focus is somewhere else. This is not intentional because I like to complete and turn in everything that I do perfectly but sometimes it’s a mission impossible task.persistance is an ability that I lack but can improve on in time. All of my habits both good and bad makes me so I do not force any of them away I endorse all my flaws and make them work for me the best way that I can.Iam still young and growing I have plenty of time to process and improve upon all of my habit.
